St Michael's Mount cut off from Marazion by the tide. Ferry boats allow visitors to visit the Island when the tide is in. It is possible to walk to the Mount at low tide.
St Michael's Mount is situated just offshore from Marazion and can be reached on foot (low tide) or by ferry boats operating from Marazion harbour. There is an impressive castle and gardens.
Marazion is an ancient market town near Penzance. It is a popular destination for beach holidays and water sports, and is of course home to St Michael's Mount.
The coastline of Cornwall is amongst the most dramatic in England, with tall rock cliffs, bays and sandy beaches. A favourite tourist destination with surfing towns such as Newquay, and famous attractions such as the Eden Project.
